MEET MY PAWS: Site Use Terms & Conditions

You must accept these terms to use the MMP Platform

  1. To join the Meet My Paws™ community ("MMP") and use Our website, You must accept these terms and conditions and agree to our Privacy Policy.
  2. MMP provides a platform for you to meet other pet owners and their pets. You can use MMP to:
    1. connect,
    2. meet,
    3. message,
    4. post content,
    5. share photos,
    6. comment; and
    7. start conversations.
  3. To use the MMP platform and/or join the MMP community You must be over 18 years old and You may not use the MMP platform and/or join the MMP community if You are a convicted sex offender. By accepting these terms you agree to these conditions.

Your Obligations

  1. You agree to provide MMP with your full and true name, address and telephone number and to only create one account on MMP.
  2. You agree to create a password for you to use to access the MMP platform and not to share that password (or any other login details) with others.

Your content & use

  1. You agree that MMP may display information You provide to MMP in order to populate the MMP platform and provide the MMP services.
  2. You agree that if You upload photographs You have taken or original content that You have created, MMP may display that on the MMP platform under a perpetual royalty free licence. You may withdraw Your permission and terminate that licence on 30 days' prior written notice to MMP.
  3. You may delete content appearing on your account that You have uploaded to the MMP platform, but may not delete content uploaded by any other party.
  4. Content that is deleted will be retained for no longer than is necessary having regard to the reason for its original posting and length of time it was available on the MMP platform.
  5. You agree that if You or MMP delete content uploaded to the MMP platform it will no longer be available and deletion is done without recourse or liability to MMP.

What You may not do

  1. You may not share or show any personal details of other members that have been supplied to You with anyone who is not a MMP platform user.
  2. You may not use the MMP platform or any real world output from it to harass, cause a nuisance and/or any distress, fear, anxiety or physical harm to any person whether connected to MMP or to disparage any member of the MMP community.
  3. You may not use MMP to undertake any of the following activities:
    1. as a platform for abusive, rude, threatening, obscene, offensive, sexist, discriminatory or racist opinions or behaviour to any MMP platform user,
    2. to impersonate of any another person or provide false or misleading information about You,
    3. to deploy a virus, send spam, cause denial of service or do anything similar to the MMP platform or any platform it connects to,
    4. to promote products or services without the prior written agreement of MMP,
    5. as a springboard to create or promote a competing service,
    6. to collect data about MMP platform users or retain any personal data (as defined in the Data Protection Act 2018) of any other MMP community member without their specific written prior consent,
    7. to do anything or cause to happen anything that restricts or inhibits other MMP community member's use or enjoyment of the MMP platform,
    8. do anything, whether deliberately or recklessly, that prejudices or damages (or is likely to damage) the reputation of MMP.
  4. Breach of any of the above will be considered a material breach by MMP and may lead to termination of membership in MMP's sole discretion and result in you being prevented from using the MMP Platform in future.
  5. You agree to report any conduct that you believe breaches the above terms, as they apply to all users of the MMP platform.

What MMP can do

  1. MMP will not pass on any data to any third parties except with Your prior consent and as strictly required to perform the services set out in these terms. This obligation does not apply to information that MMP is legally required to submit or to retain. Please refer to our current Privacy Policy displayed on our website for further information on how we protect your data.
  2. MMP may organise online and real world events and You agree that MMP may take photos, video clips and use Your image and Your pet's image taken at such events for the purposes of promotion and website use. You may opt-out of this by emailing withdrawal of publicity rights to unsubscribe@meetmypaws.com.
  3. MMP may change these terms from time to time by giving you advance written notice.

Fees

  1. Membership Fees are shown on our website and collection monthly in advance.
  2. Access to the MMP platform is conditional on receipt of payment. If MMP does not obtain full payment for the services from You, it may limit Your access to Your account and/or the MMP platform and delete Your account in accordance with clauses 9 and 10 above MMP will treat all information and documentation relating to You as strictly confidential and will not pass on any data to any third parties except with You's prior consent and as strictly required to perform the Matchmaking Services. This does not apply to information that MMP is legally required to submit or to retain. Please refer to our current Privacy Policy displayed on our website for further information on how we protect your data.

Complaints

  1. Questions and/or complaints about MMP and/or other MMP platform users should be directed in writing by email to complain@meetmypaws.com.

Termination of Contract

  1. Either You or MMP can terminate these terms and the services provide under it by giving 30 days' written notice to the other party.
  2. MMP additionally reserves the right to terminate Your use of the MMP platform where:
    1. You are or have been in breach of any of these terms,
    2. a complaint about You is received from another MMP platform user or a third party and in the sole discretion of MMP termination is deemed justified.

No warranty

  1. While MMP does take reasonable steps to verify the identity and information provided by its MMP platform users, MMP gives no guarantee and provides no warranty that personal information supplied is accurate, true or complete.
  2. MMP advises all MMP platform users to verify the personal claims and identity of other MMP platform users independently of MMP and prior to making any social arrangements with them.

Exclusion of Liability

  1. By accepting these terms and conditions and using the MMP platform You hereby acknowledge that MMP makes no representation, provides no warranty and accepts no liability for loss, damage, claims, expenses (direct or indirect) however arising in respect of:
    1. use of the MMP platform by You,
    2. information provided to MMP
    3. information provided to the MMP platform by MMP platform users,
    4. the conduct and interactions of MMP platform users, and/or
    5. any reliance placed on information provided to You by MMP or any user of the MMP platform.
  2. You further agrees and acknowledges that MMP will not be liable for any direct or indirect loss or damage howsoever arising suffered or sustained by You deriving from acts and/or omissions by MMP and/or any of its staff, agents, officers or contractors.
  3. Other than as provided in these terms, all conditions, warranties and liabilities whether express or implied are excluded to the fullest extent possible.

General Provisions

  1. "Meet My Paws" and the logo are trade marks belonging to MMP and may not be used without MMP's prior written consent.
  2. Neither MMP nor You shall be in breach of these terms nor liable for delay or failure to perform any of obligations under it if such delay or failure result from events, circumstances or causes beyond their reasonable control. If the period of delay or non-performance continues for ten (10) weeks, the party not affected may terminate these terms by giving seven (7) days' written notice.
  3. Your rights and obligations under these terms may not be assigned. MMP may assign its rights and obligations under these terms on prior written notice to You.
  4. No one other than a party to this agreement shall have any right to enforce any of its terms and accordingly the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 shall not apply to these terms.
  5. Nothing in these terms is intended to create a partnership between You and MMP, or to authorise You or MMP to act as agent for the other, and neither You nor MMP shall have authority to act in the name or on behalf of or otherwise to bind the other in any way.
  6. These terms do not confer any third-party beneficiary rights. All of our rights and obligations under these Terms are freely assignable by us in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, or by operation of law or otherwise. If any clause in these terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction then such invalidity or unenforceability shall not affect the validity or enforceability of the remaining clauses or parts of these terms.
  7. These terms supersedes all previous agreements, arrangements and understandings between You and MMP and it constitutes the entire agreement between us in respect of use of the MMP platform.
  8. These terms shall be governed by the law of England and Wales and the Parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts in London in relation to any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms or its subject matter.
